Here are the latest updates from Japan and beyond on the coronavirus outbreak:

The southern coast of Iwoto Island in the Pacific is pictured on Oct. 24, 2020, as a joint Japan-U.S. memorial service is held to commemorate the 29,000 Japanese and U.S. soldiers who died in the 1945 Battle of Iwojima during World War II. Only 35 people participated in the ceremony, which was postponed from March due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. (Pool photo) (Kyodo) ==Kyodo
