Official Report: 5th Anniversary Special Program Arrives

The "Jujutsu Kaisen Anime 5th Anniversary Special Program," celebrating five years since the first episode of TV anime "Jujutsu Kaisen" Season 1 aired on October 3, 2020, kicked off with a synchronized title call by three cast members.

The program began by unveiling the first 5th anniversary visual drawn by the production studio MAPPA, alongside special broadcast information. The cast members were thrilled, exclaiming "Amazing!" and "So fun!"

In the segment reflecting on the past five years, a timeline packed with Jujutsu Kaisen's history was displayed. Enoki remarked on the "incredible pace" of the whirlwind five years, while Uchida expressed shock: "The movie 'Jujutsu Kaisen 0' was four years ago already?!" Regarding the final volume of the original manga released on December 25, 2024, Seto shared, "I hadn't read the ending until the comic came out, so it was deeply moving to learn the conclusion here."

The segment also featured a "Special Grade Jujutsu Quiz: 5th Anniversary Version" based on past events the cast had attended. The first question referenced the 2019 Jump Festa, asking about Yuichi Nakamura's (voice of Satoru Gojo) favorite scene of his character. The cast struggled to recall this six-year-old memory.

Amidst their struggle, a "Juju Hint" arrived in the form of a voice message from Nakamura himself. In the message, he reflected, "Five years have passed in the blink of an eye, but beyond just the anime, I've had various valuable and interesting experiences, including game recordings and events."

The second question was based on "Jujutsu Kaisen 0: The Movie," challenging the cast to guess what was brought in during the opening day stage greeting event. As the cast struggled, Megumi Ogata, who voices Yuta Okkotsu, provided a "Juju Hint" via video. In the clip, she expressed her gratitude, saying, "Congratulations on the 5th anniversary! It's already been five years, hasn't it? Thank you for welcoming me even though I joined partway through. I look forward to continuing to work with you all."

Furthermore, when footage of Junya Enoki's surprise appearance at the "Jujutsu Kaisen 0: The Movie" hit celebration stage greeting was shown, the cast recalled the moment with smiles. They commented, "The audience was so surprised that they were left speechless."

The final question focused on Junichi Suwabe, who voiced Ryomen Sukuna at Jump Festa 2023. The contestants struggled with a question about what four-character word Suwabe used to describe his most memorable scene from Season 2, playing on the title "Jujutsu Kaisen." Once again, they relied on Suwabe's "Juju Hint" to achieve a perfect score.

In a video message, Suwabe commented, "Thank you so much for five years of the Jujutsu Kaisen anime. I hope Sukuna will continue to play an even bigger role in the future, and I'm committed to portraying him to the best of my ability. Please continue to support us!" His words heightened expectations for future developments in the series. Despite relying on hints, the three contestants who managed to answer all questions correctly were rewarded with a special cake featuring the 5th-anniversary visual!

The "5 Major Announcements for the 5th Anniversary" segment revealed exciting news: TV anime's third season, "Shibuya Incident Arc Part 1," is set to air in January 2026. Additionally, a special theatrical event, "Jujutsu Kaisen The Movie: Shibuya Incident Special Edit × Shibuya Incident Arc Advance Screening," will hit theaters in Japan on November 7, 2025.

With the release of a promotional video and key visuals, the "Shibuya Incident Arc" is finally ready for its debut. Uchida commented, "As this is a continuation of the Shibuya Incident story, there's a new sense of tension on set. I believe we're creating something truly exceptional." Seto added, "With new characters joining and different fighting styles emerging, I'm excited to see how these elements will be portrayed in the anime." Enoki enthusiastically remarked, "We're recording with incredible energy. The battle scenes between Itadori and Okkotsu are particularly amazing, so I hope fans will look forward to experiencing them in theaters."

The event also announced an interactive Jujutsu Kaisen exhibition that will allow fans to relive the "Hidden Inventory/Premature Death" and "Shibuya Incident" arcs. Other reveals included the launch of an original "Cursed Island" storyline for the mobile game "Jujutsu Kaisen Phantom Parade" along with its opening video, and the confirmation of an upcoming JujuFes event. These announcements collectively aim to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the "Jujutsu Kaisen" anime in grand style!

The special program, which covered the 5th anniversary retrospective, five major reveals, and announcements, quickly came to an end. Enoki reflected on the past five years, saying, "When the three of us are together, it feels like we're back in those early days." At the conclusion of the special, the cast members shared messages for the fans.

Enoki: "These five years have flown by in some ways, but they've also felt long due to all the experiences we've had. The series is still ongoing, so I hope you'll keep your excitement for Jujutsu Kaisen high as we head into January."

Uchida: "For these past five years, I've felt like we've been creating and enjoying Jujutsu Kaisen together with the fans. I hope you'll continue to enjoy all the Jujutsu Kaisen content moving forward."

Seto: "I'm very happy to have been part of this special program celebrating the 5th anniversary. I believe Jujutsu Kaisen isn't going to slow down from here, so please continue to support us!"
