TOKYO - Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi on Wednesday expressed her intention to dissolve the House of Representatives soon after this year's ordinary parliamentary session convenes on Jan. 23, laying the groundwork for a snap election that would come next month.
Takaichi shared the plan with senior ruling coalition members of her Liberal Democratic Party and the Japan Innovation Party during a meeting the same day.
