MILAN - Japan won its opening game of the women's Olympic ice hockey tournament on Friday in Milan, with two third-period goals securing the 3-2 Group B victory over France.
Makoto Ito broke a 1-1 deadlock in the 57th minute at Milano Rho Ice Hockey Arena with a long-range wrist shot, giving Japan a lead it would not relinquish.
