PREDAZZO, Italy - Nozomi Maruyama captured Japan's first medal of the Milan Cortina Winter Games on Saturday, taking bronze in the women's ski jumping normal hill competition.
The 27-year-old Maruyama made jumps of 97 and 100 meters to finish third on 261.8 points at Predazzo Ski Jumping Stadium. Norway's Anna Odine Stroem won the gold with 267.3, and Slovenian Nika Prevc the silver with 266.2.
