TOKYO - Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi vowed to "accelerate debate" on her ruling party's plan to cut the tax on food after it secured a majority in Sunday's lower house election.
During a TV interview, Takaichi, who heads the Liberal Democratic Party, reiterated that the specifics of the plan will be discussed at a cross-party national council that is to be established.
