Olympics: Japan wins figure skating team silver, edged by U.S. in final

MILAN - Japan won a silver medal in the figure skating team event at the Milan Cortina Winter Olympics on Sunday, beaten by the defending champion United States.

Level on 59 team points heading into the men's free skate at Milano Ice Skating Arena, Ilia Malinin scored 200.03 points to give the United States gold, as 194.86 from Shun Sato left Japan just short. Matteo Rizzo helped Italy secure bronze.
