TOKYO - Yoshihiko Noda and Tetsuo Saito, co-leaders of the main opposition Centrist Reform Alliance, said Monday they will resign to take responsibility for its "historic" defeat in the House of Representatives election.
Noda told reporters that the new leadership will be decided by Feb. 18, in time for a parliamentary session to reinstate Sanae Takaichi as Japan's prime minister after the ruling party's landslide election victory on Sunday.
