TOKYO - Stablemaster Isegahama, formerly the highest-ranking yokozuna Terunofuji, has been questioned by sumo's governing body regarding violence against a wrestler, he said Friday, in a rare revelation of such conduct in recent years.
Speaking to reporters, Isegahama, who retired in January last year and took over the largest stable in terms of wrestler numbers, admitted committing an act of violence against maegashira Hakunofuji and said he had reported the incident to the Japan Sumo Association.
