WASHINGTON/NEW DELHI - A U.S. submarine has sunk an Iranian warship with a torpedo in the Indian Ocean, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth said Wednesday, vastly expanding the zone of combat between the United States and Iran.
The Sri Lankan government said more than 80 bodies were recovered after the warship sank in international waters about 40 kilometers south of the southern port of Galle. An official said 180 crew members were aboard the ship.
