TOKYO - Munetaka Murakami hit a grand slam as Japan's bats exploded late in a 9-0 win against the Czech Republic that brought down the curtain on Pool C action at the World Baseball Classic on Tuesday.

The new Chicago White Sox signing's bases-loaded blast came amid a nine-run eighth inning after the Czech part-timers shut out the defending champion through seven-plus frames at Tokyo Dome.
