KOBE - Vissel Kobe reached the Asian Champions League Elite quarterfinals on Wednesday after beating FC Seoul 2-1 on the night and 3-1 on aggregate, but Sanfrecce Hiroshima went out 3-2 overall against Johor Darul Ta'zim despite their 1-0 second-leg win.
Kobe joined fellow J-League side Machida Zelvia in the last eight after the ACLE debutants beat Gangwon FC of South Korea 1-0 at home in their second leg on Tuesday, with Hotaka Nakamura heading home the only goal over two legs in the 25th minute.
