SEOUL - Fourteen people were unaccounted for and more than 50 were injured after a fire broke out Friday at a factory in Daejeon, central South Korea, the local fire department said.
The fire broke out at around 1:15 p.m., leaving some seriously injured, according to the fire department, while local media said about 170 people were believed to have been working at the auto parts plant at the time.
Search efforts inside the factory building have been hampered by the risk of collapse, according to reports.
President Lee Jae Myung ordered authorities to mobilize all available resources for the rescue operation.
