TOKYO - The Group of Seven industrialized nations said Monday they "stand ready to take all necessary measures" to "preserve the stability and security of the energy market," as the U.S.-Israeli war with Iran has disrupted global oil supplies, sending prices higher.
In a statement released after an online meeting of their finance and energy ministers and central bank governors, the G7 said they reaffirmed their "commitment to keep pressure" on Russia, a major oil producer, regarding sanctions over its invasion of Ukraine since 2022.
