CHIBA, Japan - Tokyo DisneySea's 25th anniversary "Sparkling Jubilee" event began Wednesday, with the entire amusement park decorated in shades of blue in a homage to the beauty of the sea.
The entrance of the park in Urayasu, Chiba Prefecture, was crowded with visitors from the morning, with some waving and exchanging high-fives with cast members waving flags in welcome.
Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse also appeared at the opening ceremony, adding to the festive atmosphere.
Tsuyoshi Ise, a company employee from Tokyo's Adachi Ward visiting for the first time with his 5-month-old son, said, "I would like to buy him some of the special blue-themed goods."
During the event through the end of March next year, visitors can enjoy exclusive attractions such as shows featuring characters on boats and projection mapping on the walls of the in-park Hotel MiraCosta after sunset.
