TOKYO - Ahead of his and Japanese boxing's biggest bout to date, challenger Junto Nakatani has taken a unique path to join the pound-for-pound elite, giving him the self-belief he can beat the very best.

Boasting an identical 32-0 record to undisputed super bantamweight champion Naoya Inoue, his opponent Saturday at Tokyo Dome, Nakatani is ready to add a new chapter to a career that saw him move to the United States alone after junior high school in pursuit of becoming "the strongest."
