NEW YORK - Japanese tennis icon and former world No. 4 Kei Nishikori said on social media Thursday that he will retire at the end of the season.
Nishikori, Japan's most successful men's tennis player, said in early April he was "barely hanging on" in terms of his physical condition, after denying a report of his imminent retirement.
