NEW YORK - Los Angeles Dodgers two-way star Shohei Ohtani has been named the National League's Pitcher of the Month for the season-opening span from late March through the end of April, Major League Baseball said Monday.
Ohtani, who went 2-1 across five starts during the period with a 0.60 ERA, picked up the monthly pitching award for the first time in his career in either league. The 31-year-old is a six-time winner of Player of the Month honors, including four times in the American League with the Los Angeles Angels.
