TOKYO - Japan's ruling Liberal Democratic Party has drafted proposals calling for the early deployment of interceptor drones and high-energy weapons, drawing on lessons from the war in Ukraine, sources familiar with the matter said Monday.

The draft recommendations for revising Japan's three key security documents by the end of the year also urged the government to secure the capability to sustain combat operations for "at least a year" in the event of a prolonged conflict, the sources said.
