CHIBA, Japan - A Japan Airlines passenger jet made an emergency landing at Narita airport near Tokyo on Friday due to a mechanical issue, with a tire believed to have burst during takeoff, the transport ministry said.
The Boeing 767 was bound from Tokyo's Haneda airport to Kagoshima Airport in southwestern Japan with 218 passengers and eight crew members on board, according to the airline. No injuries were reported.
