PHOENIX, Arizona - Tomoyuki Sugano earned his fifth win of the season after pitching five innings of two-run ball as the Colorado Rockies routed the Los Angeles Angels 8-2 on Tuesday.

Sugano (5-4) surrendered five hits and struck out five, before Rockies relievers preserved the six-run lead at Angel Stadium.

Kazuma Okamoto hit his 13th homer of the season, his first in three games, as the Toronto Blue Jays were edged by the Atlanta Braves 4-3 for a third straight loss.

Okamoto blasted a two-run shot to right field in the second inning to tie the game at 2-all. The Japanese rookie went 2-for-3 with a walk and two RBIs at Truist Park.

"I was behind in the count and just tried to battle," Okamoto said of the homer with a full count. "I thought a walk would have been fine, too, so I'm glad I was able to hit it out."

Shohei Ohtani collected multiple extra-base hits in the Los Angeles Dodgers' 6-5 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Ohtani led off the game with a double before hitting a two-run triple in the second inning. The Japanese two-way star went 2-for-4 at Chase Field.
