Rei Igarashi (as Kou Kenshū)

I find Kou Kenshū to be a character of great depth—someone overflowing with strength, strictness, and kindness. She is truly cool!Playing her feels absolutely wonderful!Every character in this story is captivating, and the cast is incredibly powerful. That energy is definitely going to burst through the screen! Please look forward to it!

Ai Kayano (as Shu Gabi)

They say "personality shows in the face," and I truly felt that with this role. While a story about souls and bodies being swapped is complex and difficult to express, I’ve approached every expression and movement with great care.I am moved by the meticulous craftsmanship of Director Yamazaki and the entire staff. I am so grateful to have met a character like Shu Gabi, whom I just want to give a big hug. I hope you all enjoy the anime version of "Inept Villainess."

Mai Nakahara (as Kin Seika)

When I joined this wonderful project, I read the original novel and became completely absorbed, losing track of time. The characters are so unique and defy conventions, and the story’s "refreshing" developments are truly exhilarating.I am very much looking forward to seeing how the glittering world of the Imperial Court and the dignified "coolness" of the characters are portrayed in the animation. Please keep an eye out for Kin Seika’s role in the story!

Inori Minase (as Ran Hōshun)

Beneath the surface of this vivid and beautiful world, a fierce and tactical battle of wits is swirling. Just like the original novel, the anime captures everything—from the glamorous and cute scenes to those "stomach-churning" moments of tension.I also hope you pay attention to the unique traits of each noble family and the specific nuances in the characters' voices. Please witness the fate that awaits the "gifted girl" and the "villainess" after their swap!

Yui Ishikawa (as Gen Kasui)

I was so encouraged by Reirin’s resilience and felt such affection for Keigetsu’s growth. I couldn't stop reading because I was so excited to see how they would stand up against the conspiracies surrounding them.I play Kasui, the "Maiden" of the Gen family. She is a woman of few words with a beautiful, dignified presence, but does she have a hidden side? I’m looking forward to exploring that as I play her.

Synopsis

The Maiden Court is where five daughters from noble families are gathered to be groomed as the next Imperial Consort. Among them is Reirin of the Kou family—beautiful, brilliant, and beloved by all as the "court butterfly".
However, on the night of the Star Festival, her body is swapped with Keigetsu of the Shu family, a girl loathed by everyone as a "villainess."
When Reiein wakes up, she finds herself in a desperate situation: her execution has already been ordered!
But Reirin, who has lived on the brink of death since childhood due to a sickly constitution, is actually... thrilled to finally have a healthy body?!
While the swap seemed like a tragedy, the steel-willed Reirin begins to enjoy her freedom even after being exiled to a shack. She uses her natural brightness and kindness to charm those who wish her harm, overcoming one adversity after another.
Meanwhile, Keigetsu—who once envied and hated Reirin—begins to find her own heart wavering as she experiences Reirin’s true nature.
The fates of these two girls changed forever on the night the comet streaked across the sky. Soon, they will be swept up in a conspiracy that shakes the very foundations of the Inner Palace.
The curtain rises on a royal "body-swap" drama featuring two polar-opposite girls!
