LOS ANGELES - Shohei Ohtani got straight back into the swing of things for the Los Angeles Dodgers after missing a game for the birth of his second child, blasting his 16th home run in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Baltimore Orioles.

Ohtani delivered a solo shot to center field in the ninth inning to complete a 1-for-4 outing at Dodger Stadium.

Dodgers starter Yoshinobu Yamamoto (7-5) took the loss after allowing three runs on six hits over six innings.

In other Major League Baseball action, Kazuma Okamoto hit a go-ahead three-run homer as the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Chicago Cubs 8-6.

Okamoto went deep in the eighth inning, marking his 16th homer of the season and first in six games, and finished 1-for-3 with three RBIs at Wrigley Field.

"I was able to swing through (the ball) firmly, and I'm glad it turned into a home run," Okamoto said.

"It's nice to be able to deliver in that kind of situation, and when another opportunity like that comes, I want to make a good swing again."

Elsewhere, Tomoyuki Sugano pitched six innings of one-run ball to earn his eighth win of the season as the Colorado Rockies edged the Pittsburgh Pirates 2-1.

Sugano (8-4) allowed four hits, including a solo homer, and struck out five at Coors Field.
