Japan's weather agency warned Sunday of intense rain in Tokyo and 12 other prefectures heading into Monday due to the influence of a typhoon and a weather front, with train services set to be disrupted amid concerns over morning commutes to work and school.
People in the Japanese capital and 12 other prefectures -- Iwate, Miyagi, Fukushima, Ibaraki, Tochigi, Gunma, Saitama, Kanagawa, Chiba, Shizuoka, Aichi and Mie -- are advised to exercise caution, with the Japan Meteorological Agency forecasting the formation of a linear rainband bringing heavy rain over a period of a few hours.
