FUKUOKA - Kyushu shinkansen bullet trains resumed operating on all sections in southwestern Japan from the first service Wednesday morning as the railway operator confirmed safety following the discovery of damaged overhead wires.

Kyushu Shinkansen Line services, linking Fukuoka and Kagoshima prefectures, had been suspended from Monday night after workers found a component of a pantograph, which connects a carriage to an overhead power line, was missing from a train that had entered a railyard in Kumamoto.
