TOKYO - Narita airport east of Tokyo closed one of its two runways Friday for about eight hours after a Japan Airlines Co. plane ran off an apparently icy taxiway after landing.
There were no reports of injuries among the 201 passengers and crew of the Boeing 787 from New Delhi, which touched down at the airport shortly before 7 a.m., according to the airline and the transport ministry.
But the closure caused cancellations of over 50 flights and delays of more than 250 flights. The 4,000-meter runway reopened around 2:50 p.m.
