Gymnastics: Uchimura backs Japan team, Hashimoto for gold in Paris

Japanese gymnastics great Kohei Uchimura has backed his countrymen to capture team gold and Daiki Hashimoto to repeat as individual all-around champion at the Paris Olympics starting later this month.The winner of a staggering 40 straight individual all-around events from 2008 through 2017, including the 2012 and 2016 Olympics and six world championships, Uchimura also won team gold in Rio de Janeiro during a glittering career he brought to a close in 2022."The current strongest members in Japan have been put together (for the Paris Olympics)," the 35-year-old told Kyodo News recently."We h…READ FULL ARTICLE
