Boxing: Injury forces Yoshiki Takei to pull out of January title defense

Japan's WBO bantamweight champion Yoshiki Takei on Wednesday withdrew from his scheduled second title defense in January after suffering an injury in training.The fight was to be on the same card as undisputed super bantamweight champion Naoya Inoue's bout against Australia's Sam Goodman on Jan. 24 at Tokyo's Ariake Arena.Both bouts had originally been scheduled for next Tuesday at the same venue but were postponed last week after Goodman suffered an injury in his final sparring session before leaving for Japan.The Inoue-Goodman fight will go ahead as currently scheduled.Takei was to fight …READ FULL ARTICLE
