Foreign visitor spending in Tokyo up 10% to around 200,000 yen per trip in 2025: survey

Individual spending by foreign visitors during stays in Tokyo in 2025 rose 9.6 percent year-on-year to 199,874 yen ($1,237) from 182,390 yen, during an average stay of around seven nights, according to a Tokyo Metropolitan Government survey.Visitors from China were the biggest spenders among the 20 countries and regions covered by the survey on foreign visitor behavior in Tokyo, despite a drop in spending of 8.8 percent.
