The wait is finally over. On January 8, 2026, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3: Culling Game – Part 1 makes its highly anticipated debut on the Crunchyroll.
To celebrate the launch, official interview snippets with Junya Enoki (Yuji Itadori) and Megumi Ogata (Yuta Okkotsu) have been released, offering a glimpse into the darker road ahead.
Official Interview Highlights
── Season 3: Culling Game – Part 1 is finally here. How are you feeling now that the broadcast is beginning?
Enoki: The atmosphere of the series is going to undergo a drastic shift from here on out. I’m actually quite nervous—and excited—to see how everyone will receive it. Visually, the team at MAPPA is producing something truly incredible. I believe we’ll be able to deliver even more delicate, nuanced details than before. I want everyone to see the whole season as soon as possible; honestly, I’m just as eager to see what’s next as the fans are.
── In the beginning of the Culling Game, we see Yuji spending time with Choso. What is your current impression of their relationship?
Enoki: Since they first met as enemies, there’s still a part of Yuji that can’t fully trust the situation, even though they are now cooperating. Choso expresses his affection and goodwill without hiding anything, but Yuji isn't quite at the point where he can return those feelings honestly. That said, Choso is the one supporting Yuji’s mental state during the Culling Game. I feel like they are starting to build a real foundation of trust. There’s even a small moment coming up where Yuji shows a bit of his true, unfiltered self.
── Having voiced Yuta in Jujutsu Kaisen 0 and now the Culling Game, how do you perceive him as a person now?
Ogata: At his core, Yuta is someone who "does not exclude others." Unless it’s a Cursed Spirit, he’s a boy who naturally thinks of others before himself. That’s why, even with Rika-chan, his first instinct wasn't to "exorcise" her. It was more like, "She’s in trouble," or "What can I do for her?" Even though it was a problem that Rika-chan was attacking people around them, he never once thought about just getting rid of her. He never said anything like that.
── How does the production team for Jujutsu Kaisen look from your perspective?
Ogata: I think it’s a very meticulous and sincere team. Everyone is constantly thinking about "what can I do to make this work better?" At least from what I can see, everyone approaches the series with that level of passion. Even when a small issue arises, they work together quietly and thoughtfully to solve it. Even without words, you can tell they are all looking out for one another. It feels like there are vectors of care and effort pointing in every direction.
