TOKYO - Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi said Sunday she will first seek "understanding" from Japan's ally the United States and neighbors before she makes any visit to the controversial war-linked Yasukuni shrine.
Takaichi made the comments during a TV program after Sunday's general election in which her ruling Liberal Democratic Party and coalition ally the Japan Innovation Party were assured of winning a majority in the House of Representatives.
