MILAN - American Alysa Liu spoiled Japan's women's figure skating party by winning gold at the Milan Cortina Olympic Games on Thursday, beating silver medalist Kaori Sakamoto and bronze winner Ami Nakai.
Both the Japanese medalists made errors on triple toe loop attempts at the Milano Ice Skating Arena, with Nakai only completing a double and Sakamoto missing hers entirely, costing them a chance at gold.
