OSAKA - Yokozuna Hoshoryu took a step back from the Spring Grand Sumo Tournament title race after falling to his second loss on Sunday, leaving four wrestlers including sekiwake Kirishima in the lead on one defeat.

Hoshoryu (6-2), the only grand champion left fighting at Edion Arena Osaka after the fourth-day withdrawal of injured Onosato, received a strong opening drive from Daieisho (4-4) but pivoted well to leave the No. 4 maegashira with little space behind him on the raised ring.
