PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania - Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani went 2-for-2 with his 13th home run of the season before leaving with left knee inflammation in the seventh inning of his team's 8-6 win against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Thursday.

A day after homering in his two-way outing at PNC Park, Ohtani broke the ice with his deep line drive over right center field in the top of the third inning.

He also had two walks and a sharp fourth-inning single, reaching in every plate appearance before he was lifted for pinch-hitter Santiago Espinal.

Los Angeles manager Dave Roberts said Ohtani felt discomfort after starting a stolen base attempt on a foul ball but downplayed the seriousness of his condition, saying he was likely to play Friday's series opener at the Chicago White Sox.

"We just wanted to be smart and not push it," Roberts said. "I feel good about him being in there tomorrow, but obviously with the travel tonight we'll just see how he comes in."

It was Ohtani's sixth multi-hit game this month, raising his batting average to .412 for June, a month in which he has twice won Player of the Month awards.

In other Major League Baseball action, Seiya Suzuki belted a go-ahead grand slam to lead the Chicago Cubs to a 9-3 win against the Colorado Rockies.

The bases-loaded blast over left field was Suzuki's 10th home run of the season and gave the Cubs a 4-1 lead with one out in the top of the third at Coors Field.
