Sagawa Express Co., a major Japanese parcel delivery company, said Friday that personal information, including names and addresses, associated with up to 53.23 million shipments may have been compromised following unauthorized access to its online parcel tracking service.

The information includes names, addresses and phone numbers of people who used Sagawa's shipping service or received parcels delivered by the company between June 21 and Sept. 30. No credit card information or sign-in passwords for the tracking service was exposed.

The company confirmed the unauthorized access on Sept. 30 and partially suspended its internet-based services to prevent further damage. Some of the suspended services resumed on Friday, the company said.
