BEIJING - North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has returned after visiting the Chinese border city of Dandong, state media reported Sunday.

Kim toured the Memorial Hall of the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea during his visit to the city on Saturday, according to the Korean Central News Agency.

The North Korean leader said the memorial hall is "a precious blood-stained verification of the invincible (North Korea-China) friendship," according to KCNA.

Kim met with Wang Huning, China's No. 4 official who serves as the country's top political adviser. Kim held talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping during his previous five visits to the country.

He traveled to the city via a newly opened bridge linking the countries and also used it when returning.
