TOKYO - Seibu Lions right-hander Kona Takahashi declared his international free agency Monday as he seeks a move to MLB while also keeping his options open for a domestic move.

The 29-year-old was posted by the Pacific League club after last season in a bid to sign with an MLB team, but no deal was reached, and he remained with the Lions this season.

"I've made the decision after thinking about my future baseball career and giving priority to what I want to do," Takahashi said through the club.

Takahashi joined the Lions in 2015 as their first draft pick and is 82-83 with a 3.30 ERA. He was 9-6 with a 2.54 ERA this year.
