TOKYO - Nocchi of Japanese all-female techno-pop group Perfume has married actor Kento Shibuya, according to an announcement Sunday on the official website of her talent agency.
Nocchi, whose real name is Ayano Omoto, 38, said in a press release, "I will continue to take on new challenges and grow so that I can keep creating enjoyable moments with all of you."
Perfume comprises A-chan, Kashiyuka and Nocchi. Formed in Hiroshima in 1999, the group has been on hiatus since the beginning of this year.
The trio have gained popularity in Japan and other parts of Asia, including Taiwan, with their futuristic image and distinctive dance performances featuring precise, synchronized movements and a robotic style.
The agency of Shibuya, 38, also issued a statement on its official website confirming his marriage to Nocchi, saying, "We understand this announcement may come as a surprise, but we would appreciate your continued warm support."
