High court upholds ex-Kodansha editor's 11-yr term for killing wife

The Tokyo High Court on Thursday upheld a lower court ruling that sentenced a former deputy editor of major publisher Kodansha Ltd. to 11 years in prison for killing his wife in 2016, a charge he has denied.The defense for Pak Jong Hyon, 48, has said his wife killed herself after becoming mentally unstable from postpartum depression.
