Struggling Nissan to end production at plant in Mexico in FY 2025

Nissan Motor Co. said Wednesday that it will end production at a plant in central Mexico by the end of fiscal 2025 as part of a restructuring plan that involves shutting down seven production sites.The building of vehicles, including pickup trucks, at the aging factory in Cuernavaca, which began operations in 1966 as the Japanese company's first overseas factory, will be transferred to another plant in Aguascalientes, also in central Mexico, the automaker said.Nissan is under pressure to cut excess production capacity amid sluggish global sales.It plans to reduce global production capacity …READ FULL ARTICLE
