China protests Japan coast guard sheltering in Taiwan Strait amid Typhoon Bavi: sources

China has lodged a protest with Japan through diplomatic channels after Japanese coast guard patrol vessels sheltered in the Taiwan Strait last week as Typhoon Bavi approached the southern prefecture of Okinawa, diplomatic sources said Monday.Vessels from other countries were also sheltering in the area at the time, according to a Japanese government source.
