Season 2 of the TV anime Frieren: Beyond Journey's End is currently airing on Netflix, starting January 16, 2026.
Episode 32 (Season 2, Episode 4) "Someone's Hometown," which aired today, February 6 (Friday), featured a "date episode" between Fern and Stark. Following this broadcast, new visuals have been released.
New Visuals Unveiled Following Fern and Stark's "Date Episode"!
Episode 32, "Someone's Hometown," depicted none other than a date between Fern and Stark. In the previous Episode 31, Stark invited Fern on a date intending to tease her, but her reaction was unexpected to him. The two ended up going on a date while both feeling somewhat flustered.
Wanting Fern to enjoy herself, Stark asked Frieren about her favorite places and took Fern there. Meanwhile, Fern showed a somewhat lonely expression at Stark's uncharacteristically un-clumsy behavior, yet was happy knowing he was desperately trying to make her enjoy the date. It was a notable episode that brought the two closer together and deepened their bond.
The newly released visual shows the two on their date, with Fern in an adorable purple floral-patterned dress—quite different from her usual attire—and Stark walking beside her while seemingly conscious of her appearance.
Additionally, a visual of Frieren doing "Fern's braided hairstyle when she's in a good mood," which was also shown in Episode 32, has been released! This visual hints at Fern's feelings after the date.

Story
In a world where the Demon King has been defeated by Hero Himmel and his party, Frieren—an Elf mage who has lived for over a thousand years and brought peace alongside Himmel—sheds tears at Himmel's death as he reaches the end of his lifespan. From those feelings, she embarks on a "journey to understand the human heart."
Along the way, Frieren meets Fern, a mage raised by her former companion Heiter, and Stark, a warrior trained by another companion, Eisen. Together, they set out toward Aureole, The land where souls rest.
Encounters with people along the journey, battles with cunning demons and monsters. Sometimes peaceful, sometimes silly, sometimes intense, sometimes deeply moving...
Each and every moment accumulates as something irreplaceable for the three of them. What awaits them at the end of this journey is——.
