LOS ANGELES - Roki Sasaki threw seven shutout innings and struck out a Major League Baseball career-high 10 in the Los Angeles Dodgers' 1-0 walk-off win over the Los Angeles Angels on Friday.

The 24-year-old right-hander allowed two hits and two walks in a 98-pitch outing at Dodger Stadium.

Despite his dominant performance, Sasaki did not factor in the decision after leaving the game with the score tied 0-0, while the Dodgers' relievers completed a combined shutout.

Freddie Freeman hit a walk-off solo homer to center field in the ninth inning.

In other MLB action, Seiya Suzuki blasted his ninth homer of the season in the Chicago Cubs' lopsided 18-3 loss to the San Francisco Giants.

Suzuki went deep to left field in the eighth inning for his first homer in two games and finished 1-for-1 with three walks, reaching base in all four plate appearances at Wrigley Field.

Elsewhere, St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Lars Nootbaar, who played a role in Japan's victory at the 2023 World Baseball Classic, made his season debut after undergoing surgery on both heels last October.

Batting leadoff at Busch Stadium, Nootbaar went 2-for-6 with an RBI and a run scored in the Cardinals' 10-3 win over the Cincinnati Reds.
