ATLANTA - Roki Sasaki did not get a decision as the Los Angeles Dodgers were walked off 6-5 by the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday before he landed on the 15-day injured list with a blister.
The flamethrower allowed four runs on six hits and two walks over 3-1/3 innings at Truist Park, giving up the first run of the game with two outs in the first inning when Matt Olson slugged his low inside slider and hit the right-field pole for a solo home run.
The Dodgers came from behind to lead 3-1 by the third but Sasaki yielded three runs in the fourth when his right middle finger blister popped while facing his first batter of the frame, whom he walked.
An ensuing single and sacrifice fly made it a one-run game, and a Sean Murphy double put runners on second and third as Sasaki was chased. Drake Baldwin doubled in two runs off reliever Edgardo Henriquez.
"It's the first time it came so abruptly like this," Sasaki said. "I had the part somehow covered with the skin, but I felt it was difficult to throw pitches such as sliders given the direction it popped."
Sasaki made the Dodgers' pitching rotation from the start of his second season in the majors and has gone 5-5 with a 4.60 ERA in 23 starts.
"It was a pretty good blister. It just came out of nowhere," said manager Dave Roberts, who was disappointed to see Sasaki sidelined after his recent strong outings.
Shohei Ohtani went 2-for-5, including a double in the two-run seventh when the Dodgers tied the game 5-5, while the two-way star also stole his 10th base for the sixth season in a row.
