NAGOYA - The Aichi Bar Association recently created posters, in collaboration with the "Dragon Ball" manga and anime series by the late Akira Toriyama, to raise public awareness of lawyers' work.
As the posters were unveiled earlier this week, the association in Aichi, Toriyama's home prefecture in central Japan, said its work is similar to what the series depicts, as both involve using acquired powers to protect people and maintain peace. It also urged those facing problems to seek legal assistance.
The posters are available in two designs, each featuring the main character, Goku, along with one of two messages: "Let the power of a lawyer be with you" or "Ask a lawyer for help."
In addition to the similarities between lawyers' work and the themes of the series, the association said it chose to collaborate with "Dragon Ball" because of its popularity across generations.
Toriyama, who died in 2024, began serializing "Dragon Ball" in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1984, where the manga gained a massive following. The series was later adapted into an anime franchise, produced multiple films and became popular around the world.
