Arika Gurung from flood-hit Nepal competed in the women's karate kumite at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games but fell short of a bronze medal.The 22-year-old Gurung, a silver medalist at the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, shed tears after losing in the women's 68-kilogram division on Sunday.Gurung is one of more than 130 athletes Nepal has sent to the games.Hopes were high for Gurung, who was named as one of Nepal's outstanding female athletes earlier in September, according to Nepalese media reports.
