MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota - Los Angeles Dodgers two-way star Shohei Ohtani picked up his eighth win of the season and drove in a run in his club's 4-3 victory over the Minnesota Twins to sweep their three-game series on Wednesday.

Ohtani (8-2) threw six innings, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks while striking out eight at Target Field.

Leading off the lineup, the 31-year-old hit a run-scoring single that helped the Dodgers come from behind in the third inning, after he surrendered three runs in the bottom of the second.

The Japanese left-handed hitter added a single to right field in the final frame to finish 2-for-5.

"I think I tried game-planning and pitch selections, which turned out to be one of the key factors in this good performance," he told reporters after the game.

Ohtani, who announced the birth of his second child last week, revealed the newborn is a boy, following a daughter born in April 2025.

In other Major League Baseball action, Shota Imanaga earned his fifth win this season as the Chicago Cubs beat the New York Mets 10-5.

Imanaga (5-6) surrendered four runs on four hits, including three homers, while fanning four over 5-1/3 innings in the second game of a doubleheader at Citi Field.
