CORTINA D'AMPEZZO, Italy - The Japanese wheelchair curling mixed doubles pair lost their seventh round-robin match to Latvia 10-4 on Monday as last year's world champions were unable to advance to the semifinals and went out of the running for a medal.
Japan's Yoji Nakajima, 61, and Aki Ogawa, 50, made multiple errors against the Latvian pair, who outmaneuvered them and took a five-point lead in the first three ends. The game eventually concluded early, in the seventh end.
