CORTINA D'AMPEZZO, Italy - Japanese Para alpine skier Takeshi Suzuki has been tearing down the slopes with renewed vigor at the Milan Cortina Paralympic Winter Games thanks to a new sit-ski frame made by a firm from his home prefecture of Fukushima.
Suzuki, 37, is a three-time medalist, including a gold in the slalom sitting and a bronze in the downhill sitting at the 2014 Sochi Games. But he has not finished on a Paralympic podium since, a situation that has spurred him to look for ways to change his game, including his sit-ski.
